Rome in the early 2000’s. Jeff Molan’s life as a university professor in the Italian capital is largely serene, if occasionally monotonous.

But when a colleague he can’t stand mysteriously goes missing, he is thrust into the spotlight as a suspect. The police are asking questions and shady figures loom, forcing Jeff to ignore his acid reflux and do something about the whole affair.

Fighting nerves and an inbuilt cowardice, he must bumble his way towards the truth in order to clear his name.
